John Benton
Senior NCO in the British contingent of UNIT
John Benton was played by John Levene in 16 stories between 1968 and 1975. Benton was a Corporal in The Invasion (1968). He was a Sergeant during the Third Doctor's era but was promoted to Warrant Officer Class 1 during his Fourth Doctor adventures. Levene would reprise the role in the spin-off film Wartime (1987) when it was established the character's first name was "John".
